Mark & Lillian were such gracious hosts during our stay in Bonaire. The guest cottage is absolutely new and extremely clean. It is also quite private, with its own entrance. This helped us feel like we definitely were not in the way, despite having kept odd hours while working on a photography project.
The guesthouse is very cute and beach-friendly,
with an outdoor shower for cleaning sand off of your feet, and all the cooking implements one would need, including a small grill and an outdoor table for lounging and enjoying the tropical breeze while having dinner or coffee.
We found the place to be very comfortable, and did I mention the graciousness of Lillian and Mark? They provided us with beach towels, snorkels and fins, as well as restaurant recommendations and prompt assistance whenever we needed anything. Their English is superb, as well, so there was no language barrier.
Kas Dolphin’s location is well-suited for many things. It is not directly on the beach – you will need a car (WHICH THEY ALSO RENT!!!) But it is located very near the airport (MARK WILL PICK YOU UP!!!), the town of Kralendijk and several beaches and snorkel spots. Don’t forget to visit the donkey sanctuary! We traveled there with our almost two year old.
Kas Dolphin is not exactly set up for a child, but he doesn’t need a high chair or anything particularly baby oriented and he was just fine. Climbing into the hammock, playing with the outdoor shower, and generally having a blast in Bonaire’s warm water absolutely thrilled him. Sorobon Beach / Lac Bai was a big hit. In fact, the biggest issue we faced, regarding having a child at Kas Dolphin consisted of needing to rearrange some things to make sure he wouldn’t break them (dishes, etc.). If he had not awakened when we were getting ready for our very early return flight from Bonaire, we definitely would have returned things to their proper places, but we didn’t have the chance.
We heartily recommend Kas Dolphin to any visitors to Bonaire.
